I completed my BSc in Medical Sciences (Neuroscience), First class, in 2019 from the University of Exeter, UK. I conducted my BSc project in Dr Mick Craig’s lab, where I investigated age-related changes in number and morphology of interneurons within the prefrontal cortex of mice. My research interests have focused on how different brain regions communicate, neural plasticity, neural networks, and how abnormalities in these mechanisms can result in pathology.
In October 2019, I joined Dr Deborah Vickers’ lab, University of Cambridge, where I completed an MPhil in Clinical Neuroscience in October 2020. Using electrophysiology techniques, I investigated cross-modal plasticity as a function of auditory deprivation. By determining how different sensory modalities interact and understanding how neural changes in networks are altered as a function of auditory deprivation, we gained insight into better therapeutics for individuals with hearing loss.
