Bhavisha is a Research Audiologist working on the BEARS project (Both Ears virtual acoustics training package for bilateral cochlear implant users).
She completed her MSc in Advanced Audiology at UCL Ear Institute and is a practicing audiologist, specialising in paediatrics. She is currently in the final year of her PhD at UCL Ear Institute, funded by the BRC. She is also the Technical Specialist for the NGO Deaf Kidz International, a distance learning tutor for Anglia Ruskin University and a Trustee of the British Society of Audiology. Her PhD builds on the research she carried out during her MSc and investigates how speech is used in the clinical hearing assessment process. Her project includes clinicians’ perspectives of speech testing in UK audiology services, the development of a spatial speech in noise test to assess hearing aid users and hearing aid user’s experiences of the audiological assessment process.
Bhavisha’s research interests include: development of ear and hearing care services in low resource settings, spatial hearing, qualitative research and public policy.
She is also currently working alongside the Royal National Institute of the Deaf, British Society of Audiology, SignHealth, Hearing Link and ENT UK Foundation on a collaborative project that aims to improve accessibility to UK Healthcare: https://cambridge.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1S5gwQfEUUxiLZk
