Jane Gallacher is in her second year of a part-time PhD in Clinical Neuroscience at the SOUND lab, with Professor Vickers as her supervisor.  Jane’s project is investigating access to hearing healthcare for people from ethnically diverse backgrounds.  Jane’s focus is to map out enablers and barriers for seeking help for hearing and devise novel interventions to increase access. Jane is developing a population hearing screening app, with language independent speech testing measures, which she will pilot in Scotland in 2026.
