Dr Liam Collins-Jones joined the SOUND Lab in October 2023 as a Research Associate before leaving in May 2025 to begin as a Cambridge NeuroWorks Blue Fellow fellow.
In the SOUND Lab, Liam’s research focussed on applying brain imaging technologies to better understand the between cognitive impairment and age-related hearing loss. Liam’s research applies technologies that used light to map activity in the brain, known as near-infrared spectroscopy and high-density diffuse optical tomography.
Liam completed his PhD in Medical Imaging & Neuroimaging at University College London, before working as a
Prior to joining the university my career has been mainly spent in Customer Relations/Customer Service and IT. I worked as a Microsoft Certified Trainer for a lengthy period working with local systems houses and worked latterly as a Project Coordinator for a local R&D company, producing revenue forecasts and other financial data from their Customer Relationship Management system.
